The Society of Thermal Engineers of Serbia had organized biannually, since 2004, an International Conference POWER PLANTS “Energy resources, energy efficiency, ecological and exploitation aspects of power plants operation”. Due to pandemic COVID-19 problems, regularly planned Conference POWER PLANTS in 2020 was postponed and organized in 2021 at Belgrade Mechanical Engineering Facultgy. POWER PLANTS 2023 will be organized with the invivo participation at Hotel Palisad, Zlatibor, Serbia or virtual participation throught Zoom platform, in period November 8-10, 2023.

Climate change processes and Pandemic COVID-19 has speed up Energy transition processes all over the world, especially in OECD countries. Leading economies are making strategic plans for fast energy transition according to local needs and resources, planning new big energy projects with huge budgets for their implementation. But most of new energy technologies included in these plans are in the development stages without proven industrial scale level and clear techno-economic parameters. Without clear information on these new technologies, due to high capital investment in new power plants and their long life period, developing and poor countries will follow this trend but with time lag. This International Conference is foreseen to gather energy policy makers, company managers, researchers, technical experts, environmental engineers and the other professionals actively involved in the strategic, economic, social and environmental aspects of the research, development and operation of Power Industry, mostly from the member countries signatories of the TREATY establishing ENERGY COMMUNITY of the SOUTH EASTERN EUROPE (ECSEE) and from other countries, concerned with Conference topics and implementation of the ECSEE TREATY.,

POWER PLANTS 2023 Conference will be organized in cooperation with the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning, Ministry of Science, Technology Development and Inovations of the Republic of Serbia. 

International Conference POWER PLANTS 2023 will be a good opportunity for the participants and European Commission DG TREN and ENERGY COMMUNITY representatives to review, exchange information and discuss different pathways in energy transition and their implementation, analyze problems and propose future necessary activities.
